| We're
really glad you're interested in sharing your talents at the Flypoet
Showcase. We are very open minded when it comes to showcasing new
talent. Keep in mind that this venue is not for everyone, it's a showcase,
not a paid gig. That's not to say that artists don't get paid - it's
not uncommon for an artist to sell 20-30 CDs after setting the stage
on fire... not to mention all the potentail new fans... this is a
great opportunity to rock for 400 or so folks that have probably never
seen you before. We only put up special performers that we feel are
really good at what they do. It's the only way to ensure that the
crowds and industry folk that we need to see us keep coming. Many
artists have secured management, agents, and other gigs after performing
at the Flypoet Showcase. If you feel you're a good poet but not the most polished performer, we recommend and encourage you to hit a few open mics and reach out to us when you're up to par. If you're a musical act, keep in mind that we don't allow performing with tracks. Everything must be live with no smoke and mirrors. With that said, are you still interested? If so, we need to see how you do your thing. Please follow the steps below for consideration. Step 1: If you're a local artist, check out the show to get an idea of the level of talent we showcase. Step 2: • Send us a link to any media (audio/video) you have on the web and/or • Send us a CD or video of your performance. Step 3: • If we dig what you've sent us or directed us to on the web, tell us where we can see you perform live. Thanks again for your interest! |
